FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - April 17, 2015 – They’re portable, dippable, can be stuffed with cheese or enjoyed with your favorite pint of beer. What are they? Pretzels, of course! The average American consumes 1.5 pounds of pretzels each year, clearly showing they’re one of America’s favorite snacks.
To celebrate National Pretzel Day, Wednesday, April 26, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is offering a beer and pretzel special at its Michigan on Main Bar and Grill. That day, guests can enjoy a large soft pretzel along with one of the bar and grill’s extensive selection of Michigan craft beers for just $8. Cheesy pretzels are available for only 50 cents more.
The Bavarian Inn served more than 18,000 pretzels to its guests last year.
National Pretzel Day originated in Pennsylvania when Governor Ed Rendell, whose state boasts an abundance of German family pretzel bakers, declared it an official observance in 2003.
Michigan on Main Bar and Grill inside the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is a casual and contemporary dining space showcasing Michigan-sourced food along with Michigan craft-brewed beers, Michigan wines and specialty Michigan cocktails.
